Mikey Madison won the best actress Oscar on “Anora” on Sunday, and took a moment to “recognize and honor the community of sex workers” in their acceptance speech.
The category was presented by the winner of the best actress last year, the star of “Poor Things”, Emma Stone.
“I will continue to support and be an ally,” said the 25 -year -old. “All incredible people, the women that I have had the privilege of gathering us from that community, has been one of the most prominent of all this incredible experience.”

In “Anora”, who also won the Oscar for the best film, Madison plays the titular character, a sex worker who is thrown into a world of chaos after he marries the son of a Russian oligarch.
This is the first nomination and victory of the Madison Oscar.
“Being here standing in this room today is really incredible,” said the young actress.

“I also just want to recognize the reflective, intelligent, beautiful and impressive work of my nominees. I feel honored to be recognized with all of you,” he said, while the camera passed his nominated partner Demi Moore, who put his hands on his heart and smiled while looking at Madison.
“This is a dream come true,” said Madison.
