A 21 -year -old Congress intern was shot Monday night after being caught in target shots in the northwest of Washington, DC, police said.
Police and Congress officials identified the victim as Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, from Granby, Massachusetts, who died on Tuesday after receiving a shot near the intersection of 7th and M Street.
The researchers have recovered the suspicious vehicle and declared that, although the shooting was attacked, the Tarpinian jachimio was not among the planned victims.
Tarpinian-Jachym, who had been serving as an intern for the representative Ron Estes (R-Kan). Since June, he was a last year student at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, where he specialized in finance with a minor in political science.
According to the DC Police Chief, Pamela Smith, the incident began with an altercation between two groups that became shooting in the 1200 block of Seventh Street, Northwest.
The shooting, which occurred around 10:28 pm on Monday, left three people injured: Jachimio Tarpiniano, which was found unconscious; a woman, who is now in stable conditions; And a 16 -year -old man who believes was involved with the group that opened fire, police said. The teenager remains hospitalized.
The FBI and the Office of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are now helping in the investigation. Police have recovered a black Acura in a nearby jurisdiction related to shooting, and the FBI is working to improve the scene surveillance images. The ATF is performing ballistics analysis.
